This Volvo F88 was originally owned by Distillers Yeast Company and was operated out of Bristol. It ended its working life as a shunter at Stratford on Avon Cannery. After passing through the hands of three potential restorers, Clive Davis purchased it in a stripped down state and with the help of Mark Wiltshire spent four years restoring it.
In the seventies R T Keedwell ran three models of the Volvo F88, a chrome grilled 240bhp, a small black grilled 240bhp, and a large grilled 290bhp, all were named. This F88 is now a replica of Well's Fargo, the small black grilled 240bhp model.
The restoration was completed in March 2004 and the vehicles first outing was the A to Z Vintage Commercial Vehicle Road Run starting and ending in Salisbury, covering a distance of 250 miles that day.
Since then it has entered over a dozen rallies, vintage road runs and truck shows and is soon to be featured in one of the vintage commercial vehicle magazines.
