Highbridge firm saves the day for stranded student
A stranded student from Mark was able to swot up in time for his exams - thanks to a Highbridge-based driver.
Glasgow University student Ollie larkin could not get back home to pick up his revision notes because of the volcanic ash cloud that saw all flights grounded.
His frantic father Charlie contacted haulage firm RT Keedwell on the Walrow Industrial Estate, and by chance driver Chris Lintern was heading to Glasgow the same day and agreed to deliver the notes for free.
Chris, 63, who has worked for the firm for 31 years, told the Weekly News "They asked me to deliver this suitcase to Glasgow Airport and I didn't think anything of it.
"It was a wacking great suitcase but it fitted perfectly in the passenger side of my cab."
"I got to the airport about half an hour later than I planned and when I saw him he was so grateful and couldn't say thank you enough, but I told him not to worry about it."
"When I got back his dad seemed to think I was the eight wonder of the world but I was more than happy to help."
