New mobile phone laws
DO YOU KNOW THE NEW RULES ON MOBILE PHONES THAT TAKE EFFECT ON JANUARY 29TH 2022
It is already illegal to text or make calls using a hand held phone while driving.
Under recent changes to the Highway Code, the law will also ban drivers from scrolling through playlists, playing games or videos.
People can use still ‘hands-free’ devices when driving, but people must be responsible. The rules also effect the use of Sat- nav equipment.
Cameras that monitor mobile phone use while driving have been installed on a trial basis on motorways already.
